Training For SSTUWA Union Representatives

SSTUWA Union Rep TrainingElected union delegates from country areas recently participated in fully funded SSTUWA Union Representative training in Perth.

Current and aspiring Representatives participated in a variety of activities designed to further develop their knowledge and skills related to their role.

The course aimed to enable collaborative, effective and respected leadership in the workplace.

Union representatives were more than impressed with the SSTUWA Executive endorsed ‘TOPS’ program. Delegates were looking forward to sharing the program at their workplace to help members with implementing the Australian Curriculum, to tackle workload issues and also to recruit others to the SSTUWA .

  • Navigating and Implementing the Agreement and Award
  • Negotiation, Communication and Organisation
  • Conflict Resolution and Disputes Management

Public education should be free and open to all to ensure non-selective and non-discriminatory access to a high quality education. Every child has a right to be educated; to develop as a human being. This basic capability should not be denied to anyone, either by design, apathy or neglect.
