The White Ribbon Campaign is the first male-led campaign to end violence against women and girls in the world. We encourage men and boys to take a stand and say that violence, in any form, is never acceptable. The White Ribbon Campaign recognises that most men do not commit acts of violence against women and girls. Yet by staying silent about this issue, we are allowing it to continue. The White Ribbon campaign asks men to speak out against violence against women and girls. Wearing a white ribbon represents men’s public pledge never to commit, excuse or remain silent about violence against women and girls.
The White Ribbon Campaign has spread to countries on every continent, and commences each year on November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against women and girls.
For more information about the history of the White Ribbon Campaign, please see the fact sheets available on our website www.whiteribbonday.org.au.
White Ribbon Day Schools Kit 2009

It also includes ideas of creative and effective community- or school-based activities to raise awareness about violence against women and girls. http://www.whiteribbonday.org.au/For-Schools-40.aspx
The White Ribbon Foundation released a report showing more than half a million teenagers are living with violence in the home.
The report An Assault on Our Future: The impact of violence on young people and their relationships shows that this violence is having a major impact on the long term health and wellbeing of Australia’s children. This report can be found on their web site.
