classroom2WHAT’S HAPPENING

There will be a special Forum at SSTU on Friday 21 August 2009 open to Principals, Union Reps & Parent Reps to hear from a Victorian principal about one-line budgets and the Victorian experience.   A podcast interview will be available at: www.sstuwa.org.

There will also be a number of Joint DET and Unions’ meetings (SSTU, CPSU-CSA & LHMU) to address this issue. The first of these was held last week. The unions involved will issues a Joint Unions’ letter to ALL politicians this week as well as a Joint Unions’ letter to ALL P&Cs / School Councils this week. The SSTU is also to file an application in WAIRC this week. DET has set up a “key stakeholder” working group .

Please COMPLETE and RETURN the attached document “Application to be an Independent Public School”.  Your RETURN will assist the Union in getting a clear picture of activity around this matter in schools.

It will also be useful background for the various consultations we will be in with DET and the matter in the WAIRC.
