sstuwa-no-fat-in-tafe-002If TAFE lecturers want a pay increase, the WA government will make cuts but THERE'S NO FAT LEFT IN TAFE!

TAFE lecturers and students are down to bare bones after past condition losses:

  • LOST 4 weeks annual leave & other conditions
  • LOST contact hours with students
  • LOST technical, workshop and clerical assistance
  • MADE TO increase class sizes
  • MADE TO teach more classes
  • MADE TO cancel classes when a lecturer is sick instead of paying for a replacement

These cuts cannot continue - There is NO FAT LEFT

sstuwa-no-fat-in-tafe-001What if primary and secondary schools increased class sizes, decreased hours at school, and cancelled classes when teachers were sick? You'd be outraged. TAFE deserves the same respect.

We need YOUR HELP - POST this to your local member of parliament NOW - Call on the WA GOVERNMENT TO:

  • STOP class size increases
  • STOP reducing student contact hours
  • Properly fund and remunerate TAFE lecturers so they can adequately train our students to meet the needs of business & industry
  • Reinvest WA's wealth in training and in TAFE

Please tell the government to STOP CUTS to TAFE

No WorkChoices WA

Troy Buswell and the State Government have appointed a former Howard Government industrial relations advocate to review Western Australian workplace laws and will soon announce changes that could affect up to 300,000 Western Australian workers' jobs and livelihoods.

For Our Future

Public schools are a foundation stone of our society. They are places of learning, of inspiration and opportunity where every Australian child can get the education they deserve.  It's the key to a strong economy, a skilled workforce and a socially cohesive society.

Save Our Schools

Public education should be free and open to all to ensure non-selective and non-discriminatory access to a high quality education. Every child has a right to be educated; to develop as a human being. This basic capability should not be denied to anyone, either by design, apathy or neglect.
