The State School Teachers' union of Western Australia campaigns for better conditions, support and resourcing for education in Western Australia. We campaign on issues related to our members' salaries and conditions through to issues in schools which directly affect the standard of education available in West Australia's State Schools.

Our members are passionate about education and care enormously about the future of the young people they teach. They are the most crucial part of the education process and need to be acknowledged and supported in their aim to bring out the best in every child in their care. Schools are important social, economic and creative centres where the leaders of the next generation are shaped. The skills and values they take from school, will touch us all.

Teachers cdevelop a unique blend of empathy, knowledge and experience which should never be ignored. Years of university study focusing on education, in-service training, professional research and development, as well as hands on experience in classrooms around the state make our teachers well placed to have a voice on the future of education in Western Australia. They experience the high points in a child's life and are often called upon to go well beyond the call during the low points. They are acutely aware of the problems and the successes in our system and their insight should not be overlooked.

It is with this that the State School Teachers' Union of Western Australia often campaigns on issues that are important to the teaching membership, but doubly important to the students they teach. The union is the voice of many thousands of teachers, determined to deliver the best possible education to our children and protect the profession and its future.

Please support your teachers as they support West Australia's youth.
