The SSTUWA is committed to building knowledge, understanding and empowerment of all members to help them protect and improve their industrial and professional rights. This two-day program is specifically designed for new educators looking to become more knowledgeable about their union and their rights. It will provide participants with opportunities and strategies to become more active in union activities in the workplace and beyond.
Join the 2017 IDP group to build your skills and learn how to become a more active and engaged member.
This is a TUT approved event and the SSTUWA will fund travel and accommodation expenses for selected applicants outside the metropolitan area.
Please register for this event as an expression of interest. A committee will then determine the selected educators to participate in 2017. Successful applicants will be notified in Week One, Term Two.

Members in schools and TAFE colleges are eligible for five days of paid leave per year to attend trade union training (TUT).
To comply with TUT leave requirements applicants must:
This leave provision covers teacher relief for members attending SSTUWA TUT courses.

When processing TUT leave applications:
Indicate the leave is “Miscellaneous Paid Leave” when completing an application for leave form.
“Trade Union Training - project code 1471” should be written under leave type.
