Join us for a light lunch anytime from noon. Forum will commence at 12.45pm
The State School Teachers' Union of WA (SSTUWA) continues to provide members with opportunities to develop effective industrial and professional practice, understanding and knowledge.
The SSTUWA invites school leaders, teachers K-12, and TAFE lecturers to join the afternoon forum to explore how to create safe and supportive spaces for LGBTIQ+ staff and students.
All staff play an important role in creating a space that allows acceptance of the diversity of students. It is a requirement to ensure that all students are protected whilst in our care.
This forum will provide an opportunity to expand your understanding about sexual and gender diversity and strategies to ensure that all staff are equipped with necessary knowledge to provide a safe, an inclusive learning and working environment for both LGBTIQ+ staff and students.
There will be two breakout workshops that will focus on practical strategies school staff can use to support LGBTIQ+ students in Workshop A and Workshop B with focus on supporting LGBTIQ+ staff.
This forum is open to all educators K-TAFE including LGBTIQ+ staff and all allies. Come along and learn how all school and college staff can promote a culture of acceptance.
