This new one-day discovery experience is designed to support union members who are planning to nominate for a union delegate position in 2025. Participants of this event will leave the training with more confidence to step into the new year with a deeper understanding of what the role can look like either in a TAFE College or a school.
Whether you are a relatively new member, or have been an active member for sometime and just need a nudge, this course will support your decision making. You will be ready to move forward from the first branch meeting onwards.
A range of Union staff will work with aspiring delegates to explore and unpack what you need to know, including:

Members aspiring to move into a Union Delegate Position in 2025- Rep, Womens' Contact Officer or Deputy Rep in SCHOOLS and TAFE Colleges
Members in schools and TAFE colleges are eligible for five days of paid leave per year to attend trade union training (TUT).
To comply with TUT leave requirements applicants must:
The school will not be charged for the salary of the person attending trade union training - this is covered by the DoE. However, if a relief teacher is required, this is funded through the school's one line budget.
