If you have completed the Five-Day WHS Introductory Course, you are required to attend a refresher course in both your 2nd and 3rd years of your elected term.
According to section 72 (1) of the Act and 2.1.1 of the 2022 WHS Regulations, you should attend a Refresher Course Level One 12 months after your Introductory Course and Refresher Course Level Two in the following year.
This Level One, one-day course is designed to review key aspects of the five-day course and provide opportunities to apply specific aspects of the legislation to your personal educational setting. Delve more deeply into DoE policies, procedures and agreements when carrying out the role of the HSR.
DoE HSR’s are eligible to register for this course if they meet the following criteria:

Leave is accessed through the short leave budget - Peoplesoft Codes apply - 1471 (teaching), 1472 (non teaching). Leave does not come from the school budget.
All information regarding training course expenses recoup is available on the Department of Education IKON service.
