There have been significant changes in applying for teaching positions in the Department of Education. Participants will gain an understanding of the current requirements for demonstrating competitiveness when applying to IPS or non-IPS schools via a covering letter and curriculum vitae (CV)/resume.
The course will also cover key aspects of preparing for and performing effectively at interviews for teaching positions.
If you already have something in draft form, please feel free to bring it along to reflect on during the session.
Please note this course is not applicable to teachers applying for Level 3 Classroom teacher.
Outcomes
On completion of the course participants will have:
Examined changing application requirements for teaching positions.
Explored how to communicate their competitiveness through a covering letter and CV/resume.
Investigated a format for developing a covering letter and CV.
Identified potential interview questions relevant to the individual school context and domains of teaching in Australia.
Planned responses to possible interview questions.
Had an opportunity to practice providing their responses and gain feedback about responses from others.
