DoE FINAL Offer, July 18 2011
Branch/worksite feedback was due in by COB Friday 19 August. Responses are still coming in. Members have clearly signalled that they overwhelmingly support the Executive’s position not to endorse the proposal tabled by the Department negotiators. This position was communicated to the Department at negotiations on 22.8.11. The Union will now table a counter offer next week.
Political action continues in support of an improved response to the Unions Log of Claims. All members are asked to contribute through the member action - “Email your Local MP”. “Wall of Signatures” – all country schools are called on to complete the “Wall of Signatures” sheet and fax it back to the Union office by COB Friday 26 August to 9210 6001. These responses will be used during our Dumas House Rally (opposite the main drive into Kings Park, West Perth) on Thursday 1 September at 4pm.
TAFE Committee is now examining the offer from the Department. This offer includes a salary increase of 9.5%. Under the Government’s Wages Policy such an increase is supposed to be accompanied by little if any change. However, the Department has proposed the removal of clauses which would significantly reduce rights and entitlements of members.
