IF YOUR SCHOOL IS APPLYING TO BE AN INDEPENDENT PUBLIC SCHOOL
Please COMPLETE and RETURN the attached document “Application to be an Independent Public School”. Your RETURN will assist the Union in getting a clear picture of activity around this matter in schools. It will also be useful background for the various consultations we will be in with DET and the matter in the WAIRC.
Union Reps assistance with this matter would be appreciated.
IF CONSULTATION AT YOUR SCHOOL WAS ‘NIL or UNSATISFACTORY’
If consultation re application to be considered for the Independent Public School program was either ‘nil or unsatisfactory’ please do not stay silent on the matter. Use the attached proforma letter to register your concerns and objections with the School Council, the Principal, the Director General, the Minister for Education, your local MP & the Union [Fax: (08) 9210 6001].
Remember to engage members and non-members as well as other staff and their unions.
WHAT’S HAPPENING
- The SSTUWA is in the WAIRC today.
- Feedback from schools is all too often indicating that consultation is scant. See proforma letters (link bleow) to be used if your branch/ worksite is in that position
- The DG has convened a DET Working Party. It will meet this week.
