Help stop misuse of NAPLAN data

my-schoolMembers across the country are united in the campaign to stop the damaging misuse of NAPLAN data.

As you would be aware the AEU has resolved that if the serious concerns of the profession are not addressed the 2010 NAPLAN tests will not proceed.

But instead of agreeing to negotiate with the union over these serious professional matters, industrial laws are being used against us. Industrial laws can not address these serious educational matters.

It's time to let every federal politician in the nation know how serious we are about protecting our students.

Please take a few moments to email to your local federal MP.  Go to http://www.forourfuture.org.au/elobby.html

Let them know as a teacher and a voter how important it is to you to stop the misuse of student data on My School and the creation of crude league tables that brand our most vulnerable students as failures.

They also need to know the only way this will be resolved will be through negotiation.

Just imagine what an impact we will have if every member sends an email.

Go to http://www.forourfuture.org.au/elobby.html now and send an email to your local member.

No WorkChoices WA

Troy Buswell and the State Government have appointed a former Howard Government industrial relations advocate to review Western Australian workplace laws and will soon announce changes that could affect up to 300,000 Western Australian workers' jobs and livelihoods.

For Our Future

Public schools are a foundation stone of our society. They are places of learning, of inspiration and opportunity where every Australian child can get the education they deserve.  It's the key to a strong economy, a skilled workforce and a socially cohesive society.

Save Our Schools

Public education should be free and open to all to ensure non-selective and non-discriminatory access to a high quality education. Every child has a right to be educated; to develop as a human being. This basic capability should not be denied to anyone, either by design, apathy or neglect.
