Federal Funding National Bus Tour Comes West

The release of the Gonski Review Report last week has given us a once-in-a-generation opportunity right now to bring some fairness to our education system.

With recent OECD & NAPLAN reports showing the gap between the most advantaged students and the most disadvantaged students widening, the campaign for better funding for public schools is still not over.

It is up to us to do something, to put a bit of pressure on the federal government to legislate the recommendations of the Gonski Review. No one else is in there fighting, certainly not our state government, so we must accept the responsibility for campaigning to bring some equity to our education system.

Our campaign is gearing up in the next week, especially around the marginal seat of Brand. What you can do to support this campaign:

• Attend the sausage sizzle outside the Member for Brand’s office in Kent St, Rockingham on Wednesday 7th March at 4pm.
• Have your own workplace morning tea or lunch in support of the federal schools funding campaign.
• And of course, keep sending your emails to the Prime Minister via www.forourfuture.org.au/elobby6.html
