New Educators Survey

The Australian Education Union will be conducting our annual on-line survey of beginning teachers over the next four weeks commencing Wednesday 5 November. To complete the AEU New Educators Survey 2008, please log into this site and then folow the 'online survey link' from the member menu or visit the Federal Website: www.aeufederal.org.au.

Gathering ongoing information from new teachers through this survey assists the union to advocate the needs of teachers new to the profession and to develop solutions to issues like teacher supply and demand, pre-service teacher education, and supporting teaching standards. Receiving feedback on beginning teachers’ union membership and union participation will also assist in recruitment and in enabling the union to address the needs of beginning teachers.

The survey is password protected. You can gain this password from the SSTUWA message forum or from your principal or union rep.  The survey is open to all new educators in their first three years of teaching and will run from Thursday 6th November until Friday 6th December 2008

No WorkChoices WA

Troy Buswell and the State Government have appointed a former Howard Government industrial relations advocate to review Western Australian workplace laws and will soon announce changes that could affect up to 300,000 Western Australian workers' jobs and livelihoods.

For Our Future

Public schools are a foundation stone of our society. They are places of learning, of inspiration and opportunity where every Australian child can get the education they deserve.  It's the key to a strong economy, a skilled workforce and a socially cohesive society.

Save Our Schools

Public education should be free and open to all to ensure non-selective and non-discriminatory access to a high quality education. Every child has a right to be educated; to develop as a human being. This basic capability should not be denied to anyone, either by design, apathy or neglect.
