Australian Principal Health and Wellbeing Survey

survey-handMonash University is seeking your cooperation with The Australian Principal Health and Wellbeing Survey. We are asking that you assist by agreeing to email information about the survey and the survey invitation to your members later in the year.

The Australian Principal Health and Wellbeing Survey aims to build a longitudinal picture of the state of health and wellbeing for school principals nationally. Principals and assistant and deputy principals will be invited to complete an initial survey in 2011, followed by annual updates. All participants will receive an individual report each time they complete the survey, allowing them to track their personal health and wellbeing over time.

The survey is being conducted by Monash University, independent of all employer groups, professional associations and unions. All individual survey data will be kept strictly confidential.

The survey will be managed by Dr Philip Riley, who is a senior lecturer in the Faculty of Education at Monash University, Melbourne. Dr Riley is also a registered psychologist and a former school principal.

The survey will be launched in August 2011 at http://www.principalhealth.org

We would like your organisation to help by emailing information about the survey and the survey invitation to all your members who are principals and assistant or deputy principals. This will ensure that all your membership data is kept confidential. The email invitation will direct principals and assistant principals to the survey website, if they choose to participate.

Information for your members will be sent to you in July. The survey invitation will be sent in August.

We are requesting your help only to email the invitation to the initial survey. For annual updates, the researchers will contact participants directly.

The attached recruitment flyer gives more detailed information about the project. If you have any enquiries, please do not hesitate to contact us.

No WorkChoices WA

Troy Buswell and the State Government have appointed a former Howard Government industrial relations advocate to review Western Australian workplace laws and will soon announce changes that could affect up to 300,000 Western Australian workers' jobs and livelihoods.

For Our Future

Public schools are a foundation stone of our society. They are places of learning, of inspiration and opportunity where every Australian child can get the education they deserve.  It's the key to a strong economy, a skilled workforce and a socially cohesive society.

Save Our Schools

Public education should be free and open to all to ensure non-selective and non-discriminatory access to a high quality education. Every child has a right to be educated; to develop as a human being. This basic capability should not be denied to anyone, either by design, apathy or neglect.
