TAFE student photo comp

The 2025 National TAFE Photography Competition is now open to TAFE students.

This year, the theme of The Heart of TAFE continues. Whether it is facilities, student diversity, the wonderful lecturing staff or something else, student entrants are encouraged to creatively capture what they feel is the Heart of TAFE.

If you have a TAFE student in your life, encourage them to send the AEU their best picture (or pictures) that depict life at TAFE in 2025 and be part of telling a powerful visual story about the life-changing role of Australia’s world-class TAFE system.

The competition is open exclusively to TAFE students. Finalists will be chosen from each state and territory, winning $1,000 each.

Finalists will be flown to Canberra, where their entries will be displayed at an exhibition coinciding with National TAFE Day on 9 September. The overall competition winner will be announced on this day at a special ceremony, attended by finalists and special guests.

The national winner will win an additional $5,000, while the national runner-up will also receive an added $1,000 prize.

Last year’s winner came from Western Australia, with North Metropolitan TAFE student Samin Zare taking out the award with her entry Enjoyable Time (pictured above with her winning photo).

Last year’s NSW winning photo can be seen to the right, and the SA winning photo is on page 12.

Entries need to be submitted by 5pm on 7 July. For more details click here.

Terms and conditions for the competition can be found here.
