Our GROH campaign continues in 2018, with the SSTUWA seeking:
- A reversal or freeze of 2017 increases for teachers and school leaders.
- Further commitment that additional increases will not be happening from 2018-2020.
- A full review of the mechanism for rent level fixing.
- GROH related conditions to be included in the 2020 General Agreement.
The SSTUWA is in the process of providing feedback to the Minister for Housing on alternative mechanisms for a rental fixing framework. A draft submission can be found here.
All members are reminded to contact GROH Maintenance Escalation if you are having difficulties with maintenance that has not been actioned within the GROH timelines.
Regional and remote communities deserve the best quality education and GROH increases impact the ability of school communities to recruit and retain staff in these locations.
