Direct debit request service agreement
The State School Teachers’ Union of W.A. (SSTUWA) will arrange for direct debit payments to be deducted from the nominated account as specified by the member in the direct debit request above, on a fortnightly basis. If the debit day falls on a day that is not a banking day, we may direct your financial institution to debit your account on the following banking day. If you are unsure about which day your account has or will be debited you should ask your financial institution. As direct debiting through the Bulk Electronic Clearing System (BECS) is not available on the full range of accounts at all financial institutions, it is the member’s responsibility to contact their financial institution to check that the account is suitable for direct debit. Request for deferment, alteration or cancellation of direct debit authority requires 14 days’ notice in writing to the SSTUWA. Post to PO Box 212, West Perth WA 6872 or email membership@sstuwa.org.au The member must ensure that sufficient clear funds are available on the due dates in the authorised account from which the direct debit is to be made. The SSTUWA reserves the right to recoup any loss of funds due to any rejections that may occur in the authorised account, including rejection fees incurred. The member must notify the SSTUWA in writing within five working days of the fortnightly debit being due a) should the authorisation become invalid for any reason and/or b) should there be any changes to the account details.
Disputes over debits must be made in writing to the SSTUWA. Post to PO Box 212, West Perth WA 6872 or email membership@sstuwa.org.au The SSTUWA is obligated to notify members of any policy changes that affect debit arrangements under this agreement by giving you at least fourteen (14) days’ written notice. Where proof of authenticity of direct debit authorisation is warranted, the SSTUWA is under obligation to provide account details to the respective financial institution. At all other times such details will be treated with strict confidentiality.
