The SSTUWA, in partnership with TLN in Melbourne, are pleased to offer this live online learning opportunity. In 2025 all participants who attend the LIVE session will also receive a recording of the event at no extra charge. This will allow you to re-visit the session at any time.
Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) or Attention Deficit and Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) may experience difficulty when planning, preparing for, getting started and completing tasks. They may be affected by the sensory input that is occurring around them.
Understanding the cognitive processes that enable students to plan, focus attention, remember instructions, and juggle multiple tasks successfully will support students approaching work tasks.
In this session the presenter will outline specific teaching strategies that they use in the classroom that benefit not only students with ASD and ADHD but all students in the classroom.
The event will be one hour in duration and consist of live delivery of content at the specified time by a presenter and a host. You will also have an opportunity to interact with other participants and engage with the presenter online. Completing this course will contribute to one hour of professional learning and a certificate will be provided at the end of the session.
TLN is a Melbourne based, not-for-profit professional development provider supported by the Australian Education Union Victoria Branch and the Independent Education Union Victoria/Tasmania Branch. SSTUWA will be your major source of communication before the online event. Prior to the live event, SSTUWA will email you detailed instructions about how to access the online training space. TLN will then provide immediate telephone support just before the event begins on the day, and during the training if required.

We wish to acknowledge the traditional custodians of the land on which we live and work. We wish to pay respect to their Elders - past, present and future - and acknowledge the important role all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people continue to play within Australia. We stand in solidarity.
