Public Education Day: 25 May 2017

On 25 May, we celebrate Public Education Day and acknowledge all of our members working across public schools and TAFEs in Western Australia.

Unfortunately, the Turnbull government is making it harder for our members in public schools to educate the students in our care by further imbedding inequities in his schools resourcing funding plan.

We encourage you to hold a morning or afternoon tea at your school/worksite and celebrate the great work you and your colleagues do and send a message to the Turnbull government that we want to see the full, sector blind and needs-based Gonski funding delivered into our public schools.

Contact Senator Birmingham @Birmo and Prime Minister Turnbill @TurnbullMalcolm to let them know what you think.

Send us a snap of your event and we’ll put it on Facebook. Read the latest SSTUWA response to Turnbull's schools resourcing plan.

Celebrate National Reconciliation Week: 27 May - 3 June 2017

National Reconciliation Week (NRW) celebrates and builds on the respectful relationships shared by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and other Australians. The theme for #NRW2017 is ‘Let’s Take the Next Steps’.

This year marks the 50th anniversary of the 1967 Referendum and the 25th anniversary of the Mabo decision.
