(Membership of SSTUWA Industrial Staff)

This notice is to inform members of a change to the union rules which were endorsed by the SSTUWA State Council at its meeting on 14-15 November 2025. This notice includes a copy of the rule change resolution that was passed by the State Council, together with a description of the reason for the change.

The reasons for the changes are in the same or similar language as was included in the Agenda for State Council and which was distributed to State Council delegates prior to the commencement of the November State Council.

Because the proposed rule change concerns membership of the SSTUWA it must be dealt with by the Commission-in-Court Session.

It is the intention of the Union to apply to the Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission (“WAIRC”) to register the proposed alterations to the rules, as decided by State Council.

Members are entitled to object to the proposed alteration by forwarding a written objection to the Registrar of the Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission, Level 17, 111 St George’s Terrace Perth, WA 6000.

This notice is to inform members of administrative changes to the union rules that were endorsed by the SSTUWA State Council at its meeting on 14-15 November 2025. This notice includes a copy of the rule change resolutions that were passed by the State Council, together with a description of the reasons for the changes.  

The reasons for the changes are in the same or similar language as was included in the Agenda for State Council and which was distributed to State Council delegates prior to the commencement of the November State Council.

The changes include alterations endorsed by the SSTUWA Executive at its 5 December meeting to renumber and re-letter certain rules in accordance with SSTUWA Rule 39(d). These alterations are as follows and the reasons for them are explained below.

That rule 27(a)(i)(a) – (f) be renumbered as rule 27(a)(i)(1-6);

That the asterisks in the existing rule 28 – MEETINGS OF EXECUTIVE be replaced with bullet points as per the remainder of the rules; and

That the Roman numerals in subrules 34(p), (q) and (x) be bracketed as per the remainder of the rules.

It is the intention of the Union to apply to the Western Australian Industrial Relations Commission (“WAIRC”) to register the proposed alterations to the rules, as decided by State Council.
