When classrooms are filled with children with diverse ways of thinking, learning, and being, early childhood teachers are often in two directions: meeting rising academic expectations while also ensuring learning remains developmentally appropriate, inclusive, and trauma-informed. This workshop equips educators with practical tools to bridge that gap. Grounded in the EYLF principles of belonging, being, and becoming, it explores a 'new way' to support in your classroom.
Outcomes
By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
Decode behaviour with neurobiology: understand how stress responses and executive function skills influence children's capacity to learn and engage.
Navigate the landscape of neurodiversity: use 'new way' resources to notice how different neurotypes may present in class and match these with practical, affirming strategies.
Defend play as powerful pedagogy: recognise play's role in regulation, learning, and inclusion, and link to structured outcomes and learning intentions.
