About the course

Over the past five years the SSTUWA has invested in training five cohorts - around 60 delegates - of selected Union Representatives/Delegates the in the fundamentals of Growth Coaching. You're one of them. Congratulations, and thank you for being part of the journey.

The original purpose of the initiative was to:

• Empower active, selected delegates to build their own capacity to resolve issues at the local level using a coaching conversations approach.
• Build a positive perception of the SSTUWA by supporting delegates to create collaborative environments within their schools.
  

This full day forum brings together all cohorts for the first time, facilitated by Ben Calleja (Growth Coaching International) and Natalie Swinbourn (SSTUWA). It's designed to deepen your coaching practice and reflect on how it's shaped your role and impact.

Forum Goals:

• Advance your solutions-focussed approach to move beyond what you know, reflect on what you have been doing and to understand how to make it more of part of your way of being.
• Assist the SSTUWA to evaluate the impact of their investment in this five-year initiative via a pre-forum survey, along with further opportunities to share input during the event.
• To provide an opportunity for all five cohorts to come together as one, to learn from each other and build a wider network of support.

You will receive a longitudinal survey prior to the event.

Trade union training leave - Schools

Members in schools and TAFE colleges are eligible for five days of paid leave per year to attend trade union training (TUT).

To comply with TUT leave requirements applicants must:

• Submit applications to DoE/principal four weeks prior to the event.
• Provide DoE/principal with a printed copy of the course program attached to this form.
• Be nominated by the SSTUWA. See “nominated audience” on the attached course program.

The school will not be charged for the salary of the person attending trade union training - this is covered by the DoE.  However, if a relief teacher is required, this is funded through the school's one line budget.

For school administration
When processing TUT leave applications:

• Ensure staff attending training have selected TUT Leave in HRMIS.
• Project code 1471 will be generated within the payment system.

Trade union training leave -TAFE

Members in TAFE colleges are eligible for five days of paid leave per year to attend trade union training (TUT).
To comply with TUT leave requirements applicants must:

• Submit applications to manager through your normal leave application process. You will be applying for Trade Union Training Leave of 7.5 hours per day.
• Provide manager with a printed copy of the course program attached to this form.
• Be nominated by the SSTUWA. See “nominated audience” on the attached course program.
