This two-day course has been created for experienced representatives. If you have previously completed Union Representative Training Level One, we invite you to register to participate in this next level training event.
In this course, you will explore effective leadership with a focus on the legal principles of consultation and applying negotiation skills to a range of education context scenarios.
Please note:
SSTUWA may fund travel and accommodation expenses for currently elected representatives outside the metropolitan area. Each regional application will be assessed by the Education and Training Centre Coordinator for funding approval. All flight and accommodation bookings will be made by the SSTUWA upon approval of your travel request. We will be in contact with you once the event has been confirmed based on the minimum number requirements. Please do not book your own flights.
On completion of the course Union Representatives will have:

Union Reps and Deputy Reps who have completed Union Representative Level One training.
Members in schools and TAFE colleges are eligible for five days of paid leave per year to attend trade union training (TUT).
To comply with TUT leave requirements applicants must:
The school will not be charged for the salary of the
person attending trade union training - this is covered by the DoE.
However, if a relief teacher is required, this is funded through the
school's one line budget.
