The SSTUWA Early Childhood Educator Conference is an opportunity for early childhood educators within our union to come together. The focus for this conference is to promote the importance of movement, music, drama, play and inquiry as powerful learning opportunities.
Infusing these into your lessons fosters creative expression, critical thinking, social skills and emotional awareness and supports the principles and practices of EYLF and NQF.
Join your fellow ECE educators for a day of learning and development. Ignite your energy and ideas to implement activities to bring about inspired, engaged, creative and empowered learners.
Who is Leading in the Early Years? An Investigation of Early Childhood Pedagogical Leadership
Early childhood pedagogical practice in schools is often challenged by academic demands, debates about best practice and ongoing change through new policy initiatives. Hear about the research of Dr Amie Fabry as she investigated how early childhood pedagogical leaders assist early years teachers embed ECE pedagogy. Hear about the successful strategies used to promote and sustain change in ECE contexts and the critical role leadership played in the process. You will also explore a recently published framework created by Amie, developed for leading in the early years.
Hear from the SSTUWA President as he addresses current union work and outlines future campaigns relevant to ECE educators.
A series of three workshops will be on offer, each supporting the theme of the conference. These will be classroom-based, practical sessions. Participants will be invited to register for their preferred workshop prior to the event.
