Join Carey Rogers for an amazing opportunity to reflect on your current spelling practice and to take-away some new strategies that may give your spelling pedagogy a new lease on life. You will be able to make use of your new learning and apply it alongside any other spelling programs you may already have. You will become familiar with six characteristics of effective spellers and explore eight spelling strategies that will guide your teaching and learning.
Explore some ideas to help you to get started with a student-centred approach to spelling and to cater effectively to the needs of all students. An added bonus, is that Carey presents the workshop content through various Web 2.0 Tools, giving you a glimpse of some of the great teaching and learning technologies available to engage adults and children alike. However, be reassured that you do not need to be tech savvy to attend this workshop.
You will leave the day with access to a Dropbox Folder with resources shared throughout the day.
