Commencing September 2019, the SSTUWA is proud to offer another opportunity for schools to train a team of at least two Instructional Intelligence Facilitators. Over 270 educators from 70 different schools have previously participated in the 10 day course and are reaping the benefits of having an onsite team of Facilitators to share professional learning and ongoing support with other teachers.
Join the SSTUWA Team, Barrie Bennett, and Facilitators from the previous project, to learn more about how to become involved. This information session will provide an overview of the upcoming project, the commitment required from a school wishing to be involved, and how the SSTUWA will support the ongoing implementation. You will preview the materials that will be provided to facilitators and understand the scope of the content to be covered.
Instructional Intelligence Facilitator Course - Commencing September 2019
The ‘train the trainer’ course will be spaced over two years and will be presented by Professor Barrie Bennett from Canada. 60 hours (10 days) of professional learning will be provided and will centre on what instructionally intelligent teachers do to support learning in classrooms.
A range of interrelated topics that support effective teaching and learning will be covered over the 60 hours.
The topics will be introduced as a gradual shift from the least complex (not necessarily least important) to the most complex and powerful. Each area is designed to help facilitate the idea of the teacher as a reflective, analytical, creative practitioner.
Facilitators will experience a multi-layered course that will focus on:
